Next to actually taking ownership of the Antara, the next most exciting part is waiting for it to be delivered. While some of us are lucky enough to actually have our cars, some current and future members are still at the waiting stage.

I thought that it would be nice to have a thread where members can post and update their "journey" from order to delivery which can provide everyone with a formative guide to the time involved.

My order for an Antara AWD Exclusiv in Daydream Beige was placed on 28/09/12.

I was provided with a start "built date" on 31/10/12 and this was completed on 11/12/12.

My Antara was delivered to my dealers around 25/01/13 and was available to me on 30/01/13 but I had already arranged not to take delivery until 01/03/13 so that it was registered as a "13" plate and it was on that date that I took ownership of my car.

There is a car carrier due to dock at Bristol on 06/05/13.

Nothing special in that I hear you say

The strange thing is that the name of the ship is "Antares Leader", unfortunately it is coming from Japan so won't be bringing any "Antares"

My Antara finally has a stage 2 date of 15th March, so I'm hoping its not going to be too long now, its still saying an estimated delivery date of 10th May but hoping its going to be sooner

Good news Brian

Won't be long now until you get your nice new car and all those extra "goodies" that Vardy's have thrown in to sweeten the deal

Do you know what ship your car is on ?

Hi John

Have absolutely no idea, and Grumps they better had, although lets face it their word certainly isn't their bond

Brian as you are aware there is no absolute way of me determining what ship your Antara is on but the following is as good as I can do.

Based on the information that your car was completed and/or checked on 15/03/13, there have been only two car carriers that have docked at the Port of Incheon since then.

The first ship is the Tulane and that is due to arrive in the UK on 26/04/13 but given that your delivery date is 10/05/13, it is unlikely that your car will be aboard that ship.

The most likely scenario is that your Antara is on the Tomar, which docked at Incheon on 28/03/13 before leaving on 30/03/13 and sailing to the Korean port of Pyeongtaek where it arrived and subsequently departed today.

At present the Tomar is sailing just off the west coast of South Korea and is scheduled to dock at Bristol onThursday 2nd May which fits in well with your delivery date.

Hey guys my tracker has gone to stage 3! She's on her way up the road! That makes it 3 months to the day (3rd January) since I placed my order. Realisation has just hit me that it will soon be time to say goodbye to s max - 3 years, 51,000 miles and never missed a beat. The Antara has a lot to live up to!

Congratulation Pudsey. It was worth the wait, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I have when you finally pick it up.

Brilliant news

Are you going to join the Scouts and pass on all the "tracking" skills that you have learned ?

Many thanks Anty and Inchy - you guys played a big part in making the time pass so quickly! And yes, it would be a shame to let these tracking skills go to waste, so anyone who has mislaid a ship between Incheon and Portbury - you know where to find me!
