Heres a question, the cars manual states rear tyres should be inflated to 35psi for towing. I noticed today a sticker on the door jam that states 41psi for rear tyres whilst towing. Which is correct?

Make sure you are looking at the correct tyre size in the manual as it covers all sizes. The door sticker will more than likely be correct.

Thanks DD. The hand book states for towing use full load pressures? Unlike the door jam sticker...

I put 41 for towing in my rears. I also run at 35 in the rears for normal use, to try and keep the MPG up a bit...

Thats the point though, fully loaded in the handbook states 35 and for towing use fully loaded pressure.

Not sure over inflating tyres is a good idea, the tyre will wear unevenly, false economy in the long run and less tyre in contact with the road, making the car unstable
