I wont watch Top Gear as long as that idiot Clarkson is on it. I really find him a most annoying person.

I prefer 5th gear
Itoo liked ityears ago when it really was about cars, rather than the childish antics of the presenters.wilma08 said:Hi Isaac (very nice name if I might say) I know it's supposed to light entertainment but years ago it was interesting to watch when they did not do all this daft stunt stuff and actually looked at cars, I am really interested in cars and the test results as well as euro m cap test, this might sound strange but I fell if its a car related programme then that's what it should be even 5th gear has lost its way.
This may surprise you, but I agree !!. I too like to see and hear all of the relevant info on each vehicle, but basically, its a sad indictment on today`s viewing audience, who really just want silly crash, bang, wallop, inane sensationalist drivel, rather than something more constructive and educational. Unfortunately, if Top Gear had tried to maintain it`s "Noel Edmonds" format of times past, it would have disappeared from our screens years ago. Programmes like 5th Gear, have no choice now but to follow the Top Gear "model", or they to will sink without trace. Some of the more obscure car shows on the Satellite/Cable Network are far, far, better these days if you actually want to know a little bit about the cars featured !!.Inchindown said:wilma08 said:Hi Isaac (very nice name if I might say) I know it's supposed to light entertainment but years ago it was interesting to watch when they did not do all this daft stunt stuff and actually looked at cars, I am really interested in cars and the test results as well as euro m cap test, this might sound strange but I fell if its a car related programme then that's what it should be even 5th gear has lost its way.

It might be because when Top Gear was about cars, more of us did our own maintenance and repairs. So it was useful to understand how cars worked and how to maintain them.Isaac Hunt said:This may surprise you, but I agree !!.
