Things I Like about the Antara

I like the strength of the body - at 1900kg I feel secure inside. I like the super quality of finish inside and out. I love the driving position, the seats and the light touch steering. I think the engine is fantastic and I do love to hear the turbo spinning softly with the window open. The chrome inserts in the interior and round the instrument bezels are nice; so is the big 95Ah battery. The value for money as a brand new car but pre-reg from Sir Arnold Clark saving £5K on the price was good too. Before I bought it I had demos in 14 other new vehicles, many of them boosted to high heaven by the motoring magazines, or should that be comics - butthe Antara is something special - smooth but robust. Brilliant! Well done Vauxhall!

I agree as well I could have not said it any better.
I like the smooth and swift action of the window motors with one touch opening on all four. I love the solid thump of thedoor closures. I like the power when overtaking in third gear and the smooth engine note then.I love the set-high driving position and the excellent visibility. I like the solid reliable tickover. I like the smooth action of the heater and ligh switches. Even the wipers are smooth and silent, and sweep a graceful arc!

She had her little monthly problem today at just under 1500 miles, following advice from this site I noticed that she was no longer showing 999.9 when coasting, so, switched to a faster road, kept it in fifth over 2000 rpm, and 20 minutes exactly later, all done and dusted on the DPF regeneration front.

Good advice here.
Getting a bit chilly now, used the seat heater for the first time, liked it.

Shame the "I like my Antara" has only a few posts. Although not a surprise. There are a few things I like about the Antara, it goes well, it corners well and it kind of tows OK and it looks good. I like the 4x4 system, seems to work OK, it's no Landy but it copes. As for being better than 14 other cars, I don't think so, I can think of two that are miles better and miles cheaper.

Anyhow, we all have different tastes and perceptions of things, some know cars and some 'know' cars.

Yep each to their own, just out of interest which cars are miles better and miles cheaper - are you on about SUVs with AWD?

I would like to think I 'know' cars and I have owned and driven pure 'drivers' cars and I am struggling to think of AWD SUV which is cheaper than what I paid for brand new SE-NAV?

Antara 184 is obviously on here now to be controversial try and get a reaction from people so probably best to ignore his posts.

He's another bitter person who had a bad experience so everyone else must hear about it.

Being such an expert on cars its a pity you didn't do your homework like everyone else. Anyone that's compares a 4x4 Landrover to an SUV Antara obviously doesn't have a clue.
