No never owned a Moggie, drove a Riley Elf, an upmarket mini with rear wings, walnut dash but more importantly a larger engine. Took it all the way upto John o' Groats in 1966 and along the north coast great fun, still had single track roads and no bridges in those days.

Yep and 'Put a tiger in your tank' never had one of the tails that you hung from the filler cap though.
Bring back Green Shield Stamps, still got a book full somewhere along with the petrol coupons from the 70s.
Is anyone under 65 allowed to post in this thread lol.

Only if you can remember the time when we had a British motorcar industry, and I suspect that north of the border that must be the Hillman Imp.

I had a Viva HB 1600, spent most of my time realigning the camshaft, had a tiger's tail too...back in the days when AA patrolmen saluted you..
Hrm, that would be motor bike & sidecar then, non of those nasty four wheel vans.

Ah yes, no black boxes orelectronics and garage mechanics who did not have to rely on a computer to tell them what was not working.

This is my bit of nostalgia

Not quite as clean as it should be

But fun all the same.

For the eagle eyed yes that is a Lucas voltage regulator and yes it does have an alternator, it's just that removing the black box leaves holes in the bulkhead.

That Castrol oil can would be worth a fortune today, you still got it Dave.
Had a Viva HB and a Viva HC, allways fancied a Magnum (Vauxhall not Walls.)
Hi Dave yes still got it but worth a fortune, sadly no. You can buy them new for about £10.
