In my 2013 model under the floor cover is a plastic assembly the full size of the area with various size boxes in it.This assembly is screwed to the metal box below and the edges of it act as a support for the floor cover and if I remove the assembly the cover falls into the hole.can anyone tell me if earlier models with the spare wheel carrier under the cover also hold the cover up.When the assembly is removed there is a wheel shaped hollow in the base so I was wondering if the earlier wheel holder will fit.

You don't need a frame for the floor to rest on.

On my car, you just taken out the centre piece which contains the puncture repair kit and leave the two side pieces in place. The spare fits nicely in the gap and the floor is still well supported.

Can"t do that as the new 2013 model has one large plastic moulding covering the whole area under the cover which also rests on the moulding.

I have a 2013 model the middle section comes out leaving the side sections.

In any case when you put in the spare wheel the cover rests on the wheel going support anyway

Mine is a 2012 model but registered April 2013 and I have just removed the centre section and fitted a spare wheel.
