About 8.30 am this morning I couldn't believe my eyes
.

As I was staring out of the window it started to snow. We're not talking sleety snow but full blown snowflakes.

A few minutes later I jumped into my Antara and noticed that the on board computer showed the temperature as 1.5 degrees as I continued to drive, I had to use the window wipers to clear the snow from my windscreen.

According to some I have had my "three score and ten" but no matter how old I am, I have never seen snow in my home town in what is nearly the middle of May.

There was some fresh snow over the mountains last night up here, but nothing at lower levels. Most of that fresh snow has now gone from the hill tops by this afternoon.

Afternoon Inchindown, I perhaps should have added that the snow only lasted for around 10 minutes and most of it melted as it reached ground level.

Today we have literally had the four seasons in one day. There have been times when there hasn't been a cloud in the sky and others when there has been a deluge with high winds and localized flooding.

Well the forecast at 1pm said wet snow for the south of england tomorrow, weather is getting worse. The north is getting warmer tempatures then the south, its like the country has been turned round lol.

Hi Ian, it has been strange to see the weather reports over the last 3-4 years when as you rightly say, the south of the UK are getting worse weather than the north.

There is only one area that the south still win hands down and that is the number of days "sunshine" that you experience compared to west/central Scotland where I stay.

I tell no lies when I estimate that last "summer" (Jun-Aug) we had no more than five days of what could be described as glorious sunshine. Even then the temperatures were no better than the mid sixties.

I bet you that despite all the rain and flooding that has occurred in the south of England over the last few months, there will still be a water shortage and most probably a hosepipe ban

GRAN-CANARIA?

Well you should be okay there Andy

You'll need to bring Grumps up to date on how to "wind" me up before you go or I won't know what to do with myself during the time that you are away

You do know they have the Internet when your abroad. Yes even in Gran-canaria.

Amazing I know but true.
