Hi im new to this site, joined mainly as my Antara has developed a fault that Vauxhall don't appear to have seen before. My Antara came from Telford a few years ago now. Because I wanted the auto permanent 4x4 diesel I had to wait just over a year for one to become available this way. Mine wa shipped down from up north where there do seem to be loads. I noticed no shortage from that region when I was looking for one, that was several years ago, mine is now approaching 5yrs old and I love it. I cant fault it, its the SE CDti auto and a treat to drive. The equivalent Captiva at that time was the 7 seater which I didn't want, although a good bit cheaper then to buy than the 5 seater Antara I opted for, everything else is the same, same chassis etc. etc. Why they are cheaper and often lighter kerb weight I don't know, I can only presume that's build quality.
My Antara has been faultless until Easter Sunday when I lost all but the power steering symbol on my display, I have no audible indicator, no lights for anything on the display, no audible seatbelt warning or door/boot open warning, no fuel gauge, no odometer or rev counter. I still have both trips and sat nav plus CD player. Lights all work as do indicators but of course I cant hear them. There was no warning, it was fine one minute and when we got back in it on Easter Sunday there was nothing, lights etc. were all checked and they work outwardly. My dealer has contacted Vauxhall who have no idea, myAntara goes in in a few days time to have a good check up, I am concerned that this sounds very costly, especially as Vauxhall themselves have no idea, they have never heard of this before.
Any ideas????
