Reading through the Forum us Antara owners have made various improvements / personal touches to our Antara's. Some owners maybe considering improvements but unsure what to do. Lets share your improvements and mods so others can learn from any problems that may have had to be overcome.
I have had my Antara since October and carried out a few improvements, tow bar and mud flaps fitted by dealer:

1. Side steps
2. Stainless steel sill covers with Antaraetched on them ( I think SE has them? )
3. Sat Nav unit with bluetooth replacing the CD 30.
4. Dog guard
5. Boot tray
6. Boot cover that covers the whole boot area
7. Replaced reverse bulb (led)
8. Rubber floor mats (easier to clean)

I had mudflaps, a boot liner and mats fitted by the dealer before I collected the car.
I found an old dog guard in my garage, from a Cavalier or Vectra I had many years ago, and it fits the Antara perfectly. So didn't need to buy another one.

I replaced the puncture repair kit with a proper spare wheel and jack

I didn't like the tyres that came with the car, so I fitted a new set of all seasons tyres.

I replaced the aerial with one of those tiny Bee Sting things.

I find the sat nav difficult to use andcan't get used to where itis located, so I bought a new Garmin Nuvi 2595 instead.

Genuine antara mats and mud flaps fitted by myself

I have also replace the standard aerial with a little bee sting style gloss black was going to get silver to match the roof rails but decided on black

I'm still undecided on side steps - anyone know if you need to tell the insurance? Also someone at work told me that you need to be careful with different metals reacting and impacts could damage chassis..... Any thoughts on this?

Probably going to get a new tomtom as I don't like the vauxhall system and probably the only let down on the car, would also like a reversing camera and proper DRLs

From EBay Wilma. There actually heavy duty decals that stick on but very effective. Just type in ...Vauxhall Astra VXR Corsa VXR Zafira VXR SRI CDTI VXD Vinyl key sticker decal. (sorry I'm on my fone and can't post a link at the mo').

I'VE HAD GENUINE MATS/MUDLAPS AND PARKING SENSORS FITTED TO MY EXCLUSIVE BY THE DEALER. I BOUGHT CHROME FOGLIGHT BEZELS THAT ARE FITTED TO THE SE MODEL. THIS CHANGES THE FRONT END LOOK IN MY OPINION. THEY ARE A BUGGER TO FIT THOUGH AS THE FRONT BUMPER NEEDS TO COME OFF BUT WELL WORTH IT. I ALSO CHANGED MY HEADLIGHT BULBS TO OSRAM NIGHT BREAKERS AND FITTED LED SIDELIGHT BULBS AT THE SAME TIME

Fitted mine with:- front and rear parking sensors
- tinted the rear glass, wasn't on standard :(
- custom made seat covers (black/light grayish to open up the interior, didn't like the all black interior).
- gray rubber mats (see the comment above :)
- boot rubber mat
Next thing: improve the exterior lights (light source), if possible change interior lighting on the dashboard (yellow is a bit dull :)

HI I have owned my antara for about 9 months and have fitted quite a few after market extras ;1)stainless steel side bars
2)rear boot spoiler
3)Mud flaps
4)front bonnet guard
5)rear bumper guard
6)chrome bee sting arial
7)silver coloured Irmscher number plate surrounds
8)silver coloured wiper spoilers
I was thinking of fitting a front bull bar as I had one fitted to my previous 4x4 but was told it would make my front parking sensors inaffective so didn't bother
I quite like the look it has given my antara and will try and upload some photos and see what other people think
