I have been having this noise from the drivers side, I am sure it's the front wheel went to Evans Halshaw about 2/3 months ago could not find anything well it's booked into Peter Vardy Motherwell, sounds as if something is rubbing on the disk but only when it has heated right up, watch this space

Did you say a NOISE from the drivers side, is it when you are in by yourself or when you have a passenger?

Depending upoon the mileage and the last time you had the brakes changed, the only experience I can share is when my pads were wearing down. (Reported as having 3mm left on them at replacement)

When they were starting to wear down, it initially sounded like something rubbing when turning round corners. This started, for me, on the passengers side and then progressed to the drivers side (remembering I do 450 miles a week)

What drove me to get the pads replaced was that it progressed to sounding like a rubbing, when driving in a straight line.

Easily fixed after spending £70 getting the front brakes replaced
My car is only 1yr and 3 months old and has done about 14000miles it sounds like metal on metal drivers side.

Couldn't resist it Wilma. Have you had your brake pads checked lately?
As said brake pads have a hard layer at the bottom of the wear to indicate they need changing but this would only normally show when your on the brakes, possibly a stone trapped between the disc and the brake shield if the noise is all the time, after these simple suggestions it's a wheel off investigation job to see what's going on..

Yip Murphy took it about 1 maybe 2 months ago to Evans Halshaw Falkirk said they could not hear anything or see anything, funny thing was it done it as I left the garage, was a wee bit peed off by the time I got home
