Hi There.

Im dunk

We got our new Antara exclusiv 4x4 a couple of weeks ago,so far i like the car but haven't had a long run in it yet. Im going to Newcastle in a few weeks so hopefully allshould go well, Only thing so far is the fuel consumption is low 22-25 but hope this gets much better is it gets (run in).

Hope to get to know some of you over the weeks & months to come.

Hi dunk and welcome to the forum. Your mpg should improve all depending obviously on your driving style and the journeys you do.
If you do alot of short journeys, you would be wise to look up about dp filters on this forum. Happy motoring.

cheers for the welcome

Its only here i found out why the car was makeing the noise with the fan (wife was on for putting it back to the garage )
i never heard of the DP filters before
,i thought it was overheating & still haven't found the temp gauge yet even though i have looked through the manual .

Unfortunately there is no temperature gauge on permanent display, but I do believe there's information on the forum that you can check it via the bc button.
Inchindown is normally the best person for that kind of info. Edited by: Dilligaf

This should get better when you hit 1000 - 2000 miles.

I posted something related to this on this forum - I will see if I can find it and link you to it
( save re-writing it here )

thats her up to 2100mls and now getting 32-33mpg, this was on a long run motorway 600mls & b roads 200mls aprox.
its getting better but vauxhall give it 36 in town & 50 on a run so i would expect 40-42 would be what i should be getting. other than that i do like the car & it handles very well in the twisty back roads with very little tilt in the corners

Hi dunk

32-33m/g - I doubt that you will see much better than that.
The best I have got 35m/g
I suppose it depends on how you drive it.

The VX stated figures - take with a pinch of salt.
They are done on a rolling road; no air friction; all electrics disconnected; vehicle stripped down to basics.
A big con - but they all do the same
