Here are a few pictures of my Antara. I have owned for 12 months now and I love it.

What can I say its a brilliant car so far and very much under estimated by the motoring press.

Anyway I thought I would share a few pics with you. If the weather had been better I would have managed to get it polished and the trim all treated for the pictures but I was lucky just to get a dry spell to wash it and get a picture taken.

I have had an Irmscher rear spoiler fitter

I also bought and fitted a set of Irmscher side running boards but due to my wife having back problems and finding it more difficult to get into the car I had to take them off again.

Sorry the pics are a bit dark but here they are anyway

I did try and sell the side running boards on ebay but they didn't sell so im going to hang on to them and I might refit them again at a later date because I really liked them on the car. Or I might sell them on.

Nice set Grumps

If you like the running bars, keep them. You just never know when you'll have a few hours spare and decide to put them back on.

Hi Derek
Got your message about the new site, how's the antara?
Mines got problems with the particle filter now, but I've been told to use the expensive fuel, lets see how it goes.

Hi Paul

Took me a minute to workout who you were lol. Everyone keeps changing their name over here very confusing.

What's happened to you DPF?.

Have you tried using a fuel additive like millers.

Iain m from VXON or Honey Monster on here swears by it and I have used it a few times and it seems to work well and does the same as branded fuels.

Hi Paul and welcome to the "bright side"

Are you going to keep it a secret between you and Grumps or can you identify yourself from the dark days ?

Hi Paul and welcome. I've had my Antara for 11 months and used different supermarket fuels and some brands but had no problems. I mostly use sainsbury and esso as normally cheapest and nearest.
Probably a daft question, but are you letting Dpf do its full Regen ?

Hahaha so I'm well known then, probably from all the bull I spout these days lol
The light came on two weeks ago for the particle filter to be cleaned, I drove 30 miles up and down the M61 at 2500 revs and a quarter tank of fuel, the light kept flashing away at me, only when I got home and turned off the engine and restarted it again it went off, surley this can't be right so it's in at Perry's on Saturday for a free check over.
The car has only done 2800 miles so far.

How's everyone else these days? And are we all having a get together some day?

Hi
just had a look at your pics of your car. Its the same as i've got. Even my wife thinks that the car is stunning in white. I've been thinking about getting side steps on mine, and i must admit they look good. You might just have made my mind up.

Hi, did you fit the side bars yourself? If so how easy are they to fit? I really want some but unsure how complicated they are to fit, one instruction I read about was cutting a corner off so a cable doesn't get trapped.... Is this right?

hi there

the bars are quite easy to fit I never had any probs at all. it took about an hour or so with me and my mate doing it. we fitted the brackets on first, then lined the bars up to make sure the right brackets were in place and then attached the side rails.I got told if they didn't line up it was probably due to the fact that the brackets were the wrong way round (eg- the front bracket was at the back and the back was at the front, so if the brackets on the rails don't match up try changing them around ).
im sure you will be able to manage, good luck.

Hisorry forgot to mention, I never had to cut anything off. I wouldn't be happy if you had to do that. They are supposedly the right ones for the car. If you have to start cutting thing, theres something wrong as far as im concerned

The ones I have are the Irmscher ones. At the time I bought my Antara they were the only ones available but also very expensive.

They are very well made but possible not worth the extra money but I haven't seen the cheaper versions to compare them. They were also fairly easy to fit. The rear passenger side step bracket is different and didn't need any adjustment.

I only had my steps fitted for a couple of weeks because my wife had problems getting into the car with them. I was going to refit them but haven't got around to it yet or I might sell them but because of all the cheap aftermarket steps I wouldn't get a fraction of what I paid so might hang on to them.
