Matt Black Door Pilar Strips

After giving the Antara a good wash I was looking at the Matt Black door pilar trims and thinking how they spoil the look of the car with the shinny black tinted rear windows you have these Matt black strips, so in a moment of madness I polished them to a nice shinny finish, probably not the best idea to try out on my car but the end result I like, a gloss black trim and shiny black windows, perfect.

I use a bumper gel on them and they shine up fairly well without the elbow grease. Good tip though about polishing them.

I will post a pic soon as I can, actually did them last week, bit of Auto G resin polish and gentle as you go, you will get black on the polishing cloth as I think these are painted plastic and your polishing the paint, don't go over the top as you need to keep the paint layer just polish it. A wax coat to finish and there shinny. Only warning is no T cut it's too harsh and take your time if you do it..
I know how your husband feels Wilma, 2 hours of washing and 5 mins on the road and its back to where it started..the joy of looking after your motor....
