Hi everyone,

Just spending some time in Sydney and picked up a car for a great deal since its cheaper than renting, it's a 2012 Holden Captiva 5 but it has the 2.4L ecotec.

The timing chain was replaced along with the guides, tensioner, etc. And its pretty clean, I mean I may have to swap the solenoids but that seems like an easy enough job.

Some questions:

  • this is the same as an Antara yes?
  • is it just a GM Saturn Vue with a facelift and right hand drive?
  • how interchangeable are the parts? I'd love to put in a pair of Antara xenon headlight assemblies with project or lenses?

- anyone out in an android auto/car play unit from China/Aliexpress? I'm looking at doing this if it's a straight plug and play and just run the wire for the camera.

Id rather put this in given its above the dash Vs a radio replacement so I can look closer to the road and it looks better than the crappy screen in there.

Anyways looking forward to reading through the board and sharing more about this car.

It is the same car as the Antara. Parts are interchangeable like for like.

Im just starting to convert the radio for that same system, but i bought the facia and power lead adapter seperately. I already have a 9 inch system in a ford focus that i am taking out and putting it, into the Antara. I would advise that you buy a headunit that has a px6 chip and at least 4gb of ram on it, otherwise it will be painfully slow when operating it and with the 4gb ram or more if you buy one with more, it wont lag when you have more than one app open at the same time. I.e. music player, radio and sat nav.
