What's happened to your lifetime warranty?

Get on the phone to VX & DEMAND action!!

No DPF should be doing that, at least demand they replace the pressure sensor.
they just keep saying nothing wrong with it had trading standards involved with the suspension etc etc just at end of teather with it all and to be honest i like the bluming thing which is why its hard great in snow, rain etc pulls caravan brilliant with the leveling suspension etc and to replace it is gnna cost me alot of money i have even looked at getting dpf removed but all companies are saying no stable program yet so cant be done what to do what to do
Enquire how much it would cost to have the DPF pressure sensor replaced. If you really can't get anywhere with VX ( I would be on the phone & getting as high up the VX chain as humanly possible though) then this might just be worth a shot at rectifying the DPF issue (it did for PondPaul on here) & cheaper than getting rid!!

wow at least double mine every time
Im the same, anywhere between 500 and 530 miles. I had a couple that were 140 and 180 apart but I put that down to numerous short journeys to the recycle centre when landscaping the garden. That was 3000 miles ago and has been pretty steady around the 500 miles.
I agree with Cumbucket, price up for getting the pressure sensor replaced from an independant garage, if it fixes the problem take it to VX dealer and demand they pay at least half.

I dont know how well your VX dealer is or how you get on with them. If they are genuinely sympathetic with your problem but its VX rules that stop them doing any work, how about asking them for a shot of another Antara for a few days ? Drive it the way you normally do and see if there is a difference, and Iam sure there will be.
Just an afterthought to my previous post with my Regen figures.
Those figures are very similar no matter how I've driven. Whether that is one or two200 miles trips on days out or less than5 miles to the local shops. Only thing I don't do is sit in any rush hour traffic.

Retirement has its benefits.

Mine are pretty much the same as above. I had a little blip a few thousand miles back, where I had three within a few hundred miles but apart from that they've all been stable at approx 500 mile intervals.
This is regardless of how or where it's driven- in fact, when I had that blip, it was all motorway driving!! I got mine on June 1st & it has nearly 7000 miles on it now. I have had no other issues with it at all.

If yours is doing a regen every one or two hundred miles then there IS a problem- especially if these are full & complete regens. PondPaul had the same issue & he had to hammer the issue home to get any action but they eventually replaced the sensor & he now gets regens every 1000 miles!!

Any other VX dealers you can take it too for a second opinion?
Yeah but nothing showin up on diag apart from the closenes of regens and they say its within vx guidelines

I would contact VX directly, tell them that you've sought professional advice & that what you are experiencing should not be within normal parameters & if it is, then the system & vehicle is not fit for purpose (you do not have to disclose any info to them) & you shall be seeking a full refund if the problem is not resolved within 30 days. As you go through the process, start every conversation with " I must advise you that this conversation is being recorded ". At any point that you deem necessary inform them that you have legal insurance that covers you as a consumer & should VX fail you again, you'll be using it!!

I would Start this process first thing Monday morning

Can you confirm that these regens at 100 - 200 intervals are full & completed regens? Or are you not completing them?

Just to let you all know, yesterday I did a regen, I've done approx 800 miles since the last one, drove for 20 mins up and down a duel carriageway to do it.

i have had mine for 17000 miles and since new the regens were about 350 iles apart which i also tried to complete maybe a couple cudnt but soon after they were completed that was upto first service which was required at just under 11k due to oil change light since then and just before they started doing it every 100 to 200 miles thought is was because of service but obviously not i try to complete al regens but some i cannot but soon after they start again anyway. if i put wynns dpf cleaner in the tank on the tank its in the regens have more miles between but oce that tanks gone and back to just fuel then they go down again. i saw 1 at 500 mile iterval when the wynns was in tank or did my wife have a regen while i wasnt in motor ?

since i have had it i have been in constant touch with vx with an open case for the suspension etc and the dpf and now the gearbox is stiff going into 1,2,3 and 4 it started with just 4 at first and now last nite when putting int gear a very off putting squeaking/ whine was heard i have had enough mite just got back to a car the vectra i had before was sound in 4 years and 65k i had to put an alternator on remapped to 187 bhp 45mpg urban and pulled the caravan like it wasnt there i even overtake on a rds lol but when windy as caravan weighed about same as caravan back of car twithed if the caravan moved alot but it did the job so question is can the antara problems be fixed or do i get rid and go to a car or anorther suv 4wd.

cars i considering
insignia sri cdti
mondeo 2.0 or 22 tdci
tiguan 4wd
sportage 4wd
kuga 4wd

any orthers considered
thanks

I've had my 2.2 Se 4x4 just over a year done 13k mostly local driving except a 60 mile trip once a week and we did tow our caravan to South of France in June.I have never had my Dpf warning, never had to do a regen ???
Don't know what I'm doing right !!
Hi Mike,I suspect that your Antara has been quietly doing its regens in the background, and has managed to complete them hence no warning light.

I would certainly not give up on your Antara when we looked for a replacement for our Mazda 6 tried loads of different cars and checked out their forums and Kuga/kia and VW all have members with similar tales some DPF issues even worse than ours!!!

I would give VX another go but mention earlier comments about your legal rights and see what happens good luck either way

Good point.

I had a Renault Megane before this. It was cheap, 1 lady owner, FMDSH & only 19k on the clock.

I joined the Megane forum AFTER buying it!
What a pile of crap it was in every aspect! Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding- 1.4 petrol & still only did 38mpg. Was fraught with electronic & fueling problems. It never ran right & the bottom line was that it was "just the way they were"!!

Don't give up on the Antara yet, I am having similar problems with the regens and I went to the dealership and kicked some ass. The car went in to be check and they tried to force a regen but the car wouldn't play and they told me that there were a couple of fault codes. the car is going back to the dealership for 3 day and VX customer care are going to be liaising with the dealership. So it looks like I will be getting the Antara fixed. The oil light came on which I believe tells me the oil is fooked which is caused by the amount of failed regens. The dealership couldn't change it but told me to get it changed by my local garage and they will pay for it.
I did say I would have something nice to say about the Antara for a change so................................. I fitted a race chip and OMG what a difference, its like a different car, it handles the extra power with no problem, its seems the car is happier.

Wilma
no bitching this time just all positive stuff for a change, hope that keeps you happy.
