With all the work I've had done on my house in the last couple of years, you'd have thought I might have had enough.
Not content with having my kitchen units updated, I then fitted a new hob and oven. Add that to dividing a large room in two and replacing all the windows and internal/external doors. When all that was finished I had the decorators in to tidy things up. I was really looking forward to a period of calm.
Well I couldn't leave well enough alone, and I now have a heating engineer coming on Tuesday to start replacing my oil fired boiler. The old one is still working, but the maker no longer makes parts for it. I'm also taking this opportunity to fit an external boiler which will free up some space in the kitchen . That will lead to some restorative work to tidy up the area of the wall where the boiler sat and where the pipes came up from under the floor. Yet more work to do.
This is the boiler I'm having fitted. It comes with a 7 year parts and labour warranty, provided I have it serviced every year by a qualified person.

Of course, having a couple of plumbers in the house I just had to have some other stuff done as well. So I'm having a new electric shower fitted, the inner parts of my cistern are being replaced and the connections for my washing machine are also being replaced.
I nearly killed myself moving all the kitchen appliances out of the kitchenthis morning so I could get the oldvinyl floor covering upto give the boiler people access to the under buildings. Of course, the old flooring is now useless as the boiler is going outside. So one more job this morning was a ride into Inverness to order some new vinyl to be fitted after the boiler work is complete.
So wish me luck and lets hope I don't find any more jobs that "NEED" doing.
