How to tell if 2x4 or 4x4?

Hi,i have an app on my Samsung phone where you put the reg number in and it gives you the details,Chris.

Yes you. Can see the drive shaft.

All the original ie pre face lift are 4x4.2wd has only come in on the new version with 2.2 engine.

If you can't tell there's a rear diff by looking under the back then you shouldn't be driving

Disagree with the last statement, bit harsh to be fair.Half my family couldn't identify if there was a diff there or not as they have no idea about how a car is built. How much do you expect the typical driver to know about the construction of their vehicles?
