Hi,
Had two starter motors blow so taken to vauxhall to run a diagnostic. Now on my third which works fine for now.
They have said the wiring harness is the issue and they need to replace it, as well as a working starter motor. They said this is because they cannot fit a vauxhall genuine wiring harness to a non genuine starter motor...is this right or am I being ripped off??
They've quoted me £1373 which is just horrendous. I've had the car 4 months and it's outside used car place's warranty so they won't help.
My belief is that a starter motor has the same connections regardless of the brand so why are vauxhall trying to tell me I need a genuine Vauxhall starter motor in order to have the wiring harness fitted.
Any advice?
