Hi Folks,I bought a new Antara 2.2 diesel SE4x4just over 12 months ago. I chose it for the good towing weight as we have a caravan and so far i am reasonably pleased with it especially after a 2000 mile round trip to the South of France.

Welcome aboard.

I am pleased you are "reasonably" satisfied with your Antara, especially as we read so many complaints in these fora. I bought my Antara about the same time as you and am very satisfied so far. At the end of September SWAMBO and I will be driving to Gibraltar and back, which should offer a reasonable test on my motor. I will let everyone know how I get on.

Hey, Spantara. Don't forget to allow an extra day to get across the border from Spain into Gibraltar. I see the Spanish governmentis acting up again and making it awkward at the border.

When I was in the Navy back in the sixties, my ship was in Gibraltar when Franco was acting up over Gibraltar. I had to do armedguard duty on the ship to watch for Spanish divers trying to sabotage the ship. Never did get a chance to fire my gun.

Yeh, I saw the news this weekend. With the train disaster in Santiago de Compostella, the ongoing scandal concerning politians of the Party Popular and the state of the economy, one would assume that the Spanish have better things to do than annoy EU citizens (mainly Spanish anyway) crossing from Gib to Spain. If the Guardia Civil want to do something constructive they should be checking the flood of illegal immigrants to the Canary Islands and southern Spai - none of whom arrive via Gib.
