Good Garage - Bad Garage

Hi All,<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

During my recent trawl of ‘what's new' as I find my way around the forum
I came across a post suggesting we have a ‘name & shame' of bad dealers.
Ever wishing to be positive and not just a grumpy old man I would like to
suggest that we try to establish a list of good dealers first and hopefully
they might outnumber the bad. As they say bad new sell newspapers and good news
often goes unreported. Then if people started favoring the better dealers, who
knows the others may start to change.

So to start the ball rolling I would like to nominate as
being an excellent dealership.

Myself and a colleague at work both got our Antaras from the same dealer and are both satisfied.
Another colleague bought two cars from the dealer and has vowed never to go there again.

So on balance you are satisfied. The idea was to record personal experiences, after all you will always get someone who isn't satisfied.
True but I haven't had the problems they've had, so have not had to go back as often.
I agree I now use the one and only independent VX dealer in my area which still means a 36 mile round trip but I would rather do that than use Arnold or Peter Vardys pathetic service and shoddy workmanship.

We after being messed around yesterday by Bristol street, just wanting service to have a quick look at my rear heated window, and being told I couldn't have an appointment until next week, they were told where to go. They didn't appear to bothered until I also cancelled my service plan. I only picked them as they are next to where I work.

Went to a local VX independent (Sherwoods) today as i was passing, looked at it straight away, without any appointment and fixed the problem in seconds, it was a spade connect come loose. Needless to say very impressed with them and they now have my service plan at the same price as Bristol street.

Would never patronise a Bristol Street or Evans Halshaw garage in the future after receiving awful levels of service from sales and service for various brands. Where possible I try to use an independent but unfortunately they are getting very few these days with the big boys buying them up to secure quick market shares in areas and brands.

I can recommend Drive at Redcar for sales, they were spot on and couldn't be faulted one bit.

It's probably the same "north east" Bristol that tried to palm us off with a 2012 model & also told my wife to drive 80 miles for the test drive only to let a member of staff go home in it earlier in the day! They did not care one jot either, it was shocking! Mind, we did get our own back (but that's another story

The salesman was a real slimeball. When the wife had driven 80 miles to the "arranged" test drive only to arrive & have no antara to drive he couldn't have cared less. He had another "sale" going on & couldn't give a monkeys about us as we had already paid a £200 deposit. There were other things too but you get the idea.

So the wife almost in tears she demands the £200 deposit back & makes a complaint about the salesman.

Two days later the salesman rings her up all apologetic & concerned etc. We then find out that although she received her £200 back there & then, this salesman never actually took it off her card- HE DIDN'T MAKE THE TRANSACTION!!

Begging for the £200 back, she told him it's here waiting for you. You'll have to drive up & collect it. However, I can't guarantee that anyone will be here when you arrive, you'll just have to chance it & return another day if not!!!!!!!!

He's never been!

What a slimy git good for you and your lovely wife, that's the way to treat them, My husband treats them with content when he is in the show room or at the service department, as he say's all they want is your money they do not care lwhen things go wrong, they do not seem to know what customer care is once they have there share.

Wilsons of Bolton, crap hole.
Gave me £240 towards the road tax free wax then tried to hide £1000.00 in the figures for putting the wax on, they said it was a mistake, took them 4 weeks to return my £1000.00 deposit.
Went to Perry's instead, the deal they have was outstanding.
