With Christmas a mere 251 days away, weare all on the look out for a "bargain" and I have came across a couple that I wanted to share, especially for those of us with children who use their phones to play music or indeed, anyone with an ipod touch or other such MP4 player. This is a small but "very loud" rechargeable speaker. The blue coloured speaker costs £1.99 reduced from £15.99 and the black on costs the same and reduced from £9.99.


The other is for anyone with an iphone or ipod touch who is looking for a small docking station. This dock has been reduced from £26.99 to £3.99


The products are ordered online at the WHSmith website and can be delivered to your home address at a cost but there is an option for free collection from one of their stores. New customers do need to create an account but this only takes about a minute or so.


Delivery times are shown as between one and four weeks.

John, kind of you to share this information but a little word of warning - the Iphone 5 does not have the same connecting plug as previous Iphones or the Ipods. I know this as I have a dock for my Ipod and, although I have a Samsung mobile, the rest of the family has Iphones - all Iphone 5s except one which is an Iphone 4. The 4 fits the dock but not the 5s.

Good price for the speakers though

Hi John,

I am in Gothenburg at the moment, which is good as I got home over the weekend even though home is a 5 hour drive from here. Back to Vigo on Wednesday.

My next trips will be to your part of the world - Newcastle and Edinburgh.
