fuel gauge

hi filled uo today gauge showing1/4 tank filled to top and gauge went to under half also miles on tripmoved from 78 to 123 switched on and off milage to go gone to 258 and gauge under 3/4 been fine on the 8000 miles ive done untill today any sugestions 13 plate so looks like dealers
