Flat Battery

I was laid up for 5 weeks in oct-nov, got in the car and it started first time.

I work abroad and my Antara had been sitting for a couple of weeks when my girlfriend went to start it and struggled to even get the doors open never mind start it , My last car was an 07 Vectra and I could leave it 5 weeks and it would still start first time every time.
My girlfriend checked nothing had been left on and the stereo was off ( its wired direct to the battery) and nothing was left on.


Its a 2012 Antara 163 2.2 cdti

Hi my husband had that problem with his Captivia sister car to the Antara had to get the recovery man out even our heavy duty charger would not do the job his is a April 2012 plate after getting going took it down to the garage (Belmont Chevrolet Edinburgh) could not find a problem that was a few months ago, I went onto the Chevrolet web site and it's seems that some batteries have that problem, but the batterie has never done it again thank god might be the same problem with yours

Wima08 it sound like that could be the problem right enough , since I managed to charge the battery after a decent run it's started first time every time so fingers crossed it was just a one off I'll find out for sure next time I go back to work for 4 weeks.

Wayne, yes mine did it yesterday. Had only been away on business for 3 days. Its an 2012 plate SE Nav with less than 18k on the clock. Never had any issues so far, but could not even operate central locking and had to open with the key. When trying to turn the ignition I had no instrument lights whatsoever. Called RAC out and they charged the battery from professional charging pack, battery only had 3 volts in it and should be 14 volts minimum. Once charged I could start the car but on trying the central locking you could see the doors open but only the drivers would open none of the others or the tailgate. Like you nothing had been left on interior lights, factory fitted stereo, no lights left on and it had not been alarming on the drive, I checked with the wife. Took it for a 30 mile spin came back switched everything off and left it for 10 mins then tried everything again and it all worked fine all doors opening etc as though nothing had happened, could it be the BCM (Body Control Monitor)? who knows. Very bizarre no fault codes or anything. Still on lifetime warranty but a bit peed off that I will have to fork out £45 to put it on diagnostics at the dealers just to check it out and give me peace of mind. If not fault found I'm down £45 if they do find a fault then Vauxhall pay. Going on holiday soon and leaving at the airport, don't really want to come back to a dead car after a long haul flight, so feel I have to get it checked for peace of mind. Looking at some of the posts seems others have had a similar problem but is not persistent and car just need to reset it would seem, but why?? Shame as I had nothing but good to say about the Antara but these unexplained niggles knock your confidence with theproduct somewhat.
