First Fault Found

Having had the car for almost a year, I have found my first fault.

When using the remote key to open the doors, the near side rear passenger door does not unlock.

I have to press the lock/unlock button several times to get the door to unlock, and even then it sometimes only half unlocks so the door only opens about 1cm.

Only seems to happen with the remote key as it opens normally when using the buttons on the doors. All the other doors, including the tailgate, open normally.

I'm due a service next month so I'll get them to take a look at it then.

Good morning Inchindown I have to press my remote twice to get all my doors open ( sometimes the boot sticks ) I thought that was the norm pressing twice .
Hmm strange one Inchindown if you use the lock unlock button in the car and it opens okay I can't see why the remote doesn't open it it the same system. Maybe all it needs is a bit of lubrication or the solonoid is on its way out.

and yes Wilma if you double lock by pressing twice you need to press twice to unlock it or only the drivers door opens with one press.

Same problem here with boot, requires extra pressing of remote every time
I have just had my first fault after 16 months of ownership from new. OSR door only opened very slightly after 2 pushes on remote but was still latched. A third press was required to release it. I asked Arnold to check it when it was in for the pipe recall last weekwhich required no action. Diagnosis was a faulty latch which had to be ordered and was replaced under warranty 2 days later. No problems with boot.

Hi Grumps, I have always double locked mine, but when I open it I only press the key once and I can open all doors but have to press again if I want to open the boot.
Same for me one press unlocks all the doors but not the boot, second press unlocks the boot.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a sticking door lock. I think I'll give it a spray with some WD40 and see if that eases things. Failing that, I'll get the dealer to check it out when it goes in for a service next month.

When my locks are working properly, one click opens all the doors and a second click is needed to open the boot.
I found on mine it was the actual locking button on inside top of door trim seemed to be a bit sticky, gave it a few manual operations up and down and squirt with silicon lubricant and was all fine after that. That was also nearside rear door.
Correction to my earlier post. Mine was also NSR, so that's 3 of us with the same issue.

You are correct it should only be the boot the needs two presses. I was getting mixed up with our Corsa which has a single press to unlock the drivers door only. Its a safety thing to stop someone jumping in the car beside you if your on your own.

As for the boot on the Antara everyone should know that you need two presses to unlock it. It also wont open if the handbrake is not on.

Or not in park or if it's in drive and neutral although you foot is on the break my boot sticks quite a lot even when I press twice and the poor dog is waiting to get into her carriage just looks at me as if today well wrap hats the problem now lol
