It may sound daft. But the outside temp has not really been correct on mine for the past couple of days. At start up its about 10 degrees more than it should, andnthen slowly gets to the correct temp.

Is it something that you may have come across.

The sensor on many cars is easily affected by external factors such as sunshine, or residual heat even in small amounts, when the car is stationary. It changes to a more realistic figure as you drive with moving air reaching the sensor.

The temperature sensor can often seem to do it's own thing.  In the Summer we had the car notify us of an ice warning with a temperature of 1.5c - After running for a few minutes it climbed quickly to a more realistic temperature.
I think sometimes it gets a bit confused
