Wondered how long it would be before the Government stepped in.

It was always going to be part of the mot test eventually.

I'm surprised to see you are still posting on this forum Piddy. After all you made it clear on the VXON forum what you think of us over here.

Colonel Gaddaffi, wonder if that's the same person that I refer to as Coco the Clown

How can anybody support and justify the buying of crap..Got rid of mine when it was 10 months old.
I bought a dodgey vehicle, I got it wrong and I made a mistake and thats it.
Some people buy junk and then defend it as they don't like to admit that they got it wrong. Everything they buy is the best in the world even when it's not

I posted this theory of mine on the " other " forum and they tried to shoot me down in flames. Bet the Samaritans phone lines were busy that day
Here is some Technical Advice...get rid as these vehicles are appalling..
The motor trade has caught on to this and offer joke prices as a part ex.
There are a large number of people who know very little about vehicles but THINK they do, they would probably run around laughing hysterically if their bottoms caught fire.

Tampering with any component in the regen system not just the dpf will be breaking the law !!!.....<div abp="1261">As an engineer Iam a believer if it is in the system it is there for a purpose. If it cant be improved upon then leave it alone, it was designed that way !!
<div abp="1261">
<div abp="1261">Inchindown......... Same doom and gloom merchants still doing the same whining about the same problems , yet another new thread over therestarted !!!...Some of their problems could have been avoided if proper research was done before purchase.!!
Come on guys we all love our Antaras and won't hear a bad word said about them we are the abnormal people or maybe that's just being realistic.

Imagine buying a car and not noticing the heater controls were not in the ideal position. Tut tut the dealer and Vauxhall for not pointing that out during the test drive.

Maybe some of us just learn to adapt and get on with things without any fuss. I have had quite a few cars and none of them perfect but you learn to live or get used to things. For example the cruise control I wasn't a fan of the controls because it wasn't what I was used to but now I couldn't care less I am used to how they work and I'm sure it will take a bit of getting used to the next car I buy but that's life.
One of them hurting that much they private messaged me telling me to man up and post something on their whining thread.......
...If you have a problem or there is something you dont like ....fine....we all have something we dont like with the Antara...but to go on and on about the same things on every thread ............yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn !!!

A very good post by Inchindown but unfortunately a waste of time by the looks of it. Its a shame Antara owners have to read the crap they have posted.

I agree people have issues but it's not always down to the car itself. Look at the dealer or in some cases the mirror.
I agree with you grumps, I think some people should just drive their antara' over the edge of a cliff with them selves in it if they don't like what they have got, at least it will put them out of our misery...

On a brighter note, both myself and the wife have had our antara for 17 months, we have had a few niggles as with a few of us, but on a whole it's been a lovely car.
It's now only done 8000 miles and I've finally installed the led side light bulbs which look fantastic, however I have a plastic plug missing from the front grill due to it popping off somewhere in the engine bay, wonder how long that will take me to replace it lol
Anyone replaced the front fog light bulbs yet, I was just wondering if they are bright enough?

Oh and just one last thing, I've got the front centre speaker popping up problem on mine, I'll get that sorted on the service in July...Edited by: Pondpaul

I wonder how many have removed it? Lol

I came very very close to removing mine but took the advise from my fellow forum members not to. So thanks guys and Wilma for changing my mind.

Had a regen myself the other day.
started the engine and the light came on, thought to myself I'll go and get the little bits of running around then take it on its little drive to regen it, spent 15 mins of running around without stopping the engine also with the fuel economy at the usual regen crappy level, just about to go on the little run to do the regen and the light went out.
Now that's what I like and how it should be....
