Well that was a interesting read, I wonder who else has read it

Had my first incomplete regen this morning, and as luck would have it, it was my 13th regen since the car was new in March of this year.
I knew one was due, but I decided to let it happen without trying to complete the regen process. I wanted to see what happens next time I go out in respect of whether the regen restarts immediately and how long it takes to complete.

I can see why some people might get very alarmed when the fan is blasting away after you turn the car off. It's very loud.

Make a note of whether the engine is warm or stone cold when you next set off. I bet if it's stone cold, it won't restart the regen. Hope I'm wrong.

The engine will have been off for about 3hours when I go out later this afternoon, so I would say it would be cold by then.

I've never had an interrupted regen before, so I thought it would be interesting to find out what happens after one.

And smelly just happened to me this afternoon see what happens then

Well I took the car out again this afternoon having had an interrupted regen this morning. The car had been standing for more than 2 hours so the engine was cold. Don't know if the result would have been different if the car had been in the garage all night.

The regen restarted after less than 2 miles and took about the normal time to complete, when you add the time before and after the interrupted regen.

So no problems for me then.

Good news ID. That resolves most of the DPF issues. The only time you would need to drive past your destination was if the yellow light was on meaning your FAP was stuffed.

When I got home today the fan kicked in as I switched off so I opened the garage door .started the Antara, reversed into the garage and switched off expecting to here the fan kick in again but nothing but silence so does time or distance have to occur for a regen to start again ??

Most of the time, if I interrupt a regen it will start back up again next time within a few miles. However, I have had them not start again for over a hundred miles. Also, the overall time of multiple regens is usually longer than a single, completed one.

DD - I would expect the car would need to reach a certain engine temperature before a regen would restart. Pity they don't give us temperature gauges.
