Demister

I am having problems clearing my windscreen. I had to sit for 10 mins this morning before it cleared. I have noticed this happening a few time recently but I am concerned with winter just around the corner. I tried everything. Air con included. Also, my driver side mirror is not clearing either. This is a 5 month old car. Anyone else experienced these issues? Any tips or does it need to go to the garage?

Give the inside of car glass a good clean with a decent glass cleaner if you havent already. This improved mine no end and stopped the misting up all the time. Also if you have a lot of moisture in car from wet clothes, damp dog etc one of the dehumidifiers on sale from most diy shops does wonders. I redry the packs in oven using its residual heat after we have finished cooking as well so they can last a long time.Edited by: HoneyMonster
Like all cars, the Antara will steam up from time to time. Personally I don't have any problem with excessive steaming up.
When it first starts misting, I hit the demister button. When that has cleared the screen, I make sure the recirculation button is off, I put the air flow on the windscreen setting and turn up the fan and put the heater on maximum. After a few minutes I revert to more normal settings for the fan and temp and put the air flow to either Face/Feet of Windscreen/Feet.

As far as I remember, the driver's mirror only demists when the demister button is in the on position, but I may be wrong on that, as I don't have my manual handy to check.
Thanks. The inside of my windscreen is quite dirty, so will start off with a good clean.

Hi Inchindown do you not put AC on instead of the circulation button plus you have to cut off the two air vents on the middle dash so that it circulates faster to demist the car, i hate it when the windows are not clear my hubby does not mind.

When I press the demister button, the AC comes on full blast directed to the windscreen. When the demister is on, air recirculation is automatically switched off. When I'm finished with the demister, I just make sure recirculation is still off and set the other controls how I want them.

I found that during last winter when the vehicle did tend to be a bit steamy inside that there was an area in the bottom right corner of the windscreen that didn't receive any air from the vents.
This area measured about 4 inches wide and about 6 inches in height and still hadn't cleared after driving 5 miles plus
Strange

The outside mirrors work when you put the rear window heater on
