Hi pgm and welcome to the forum.I would suggest you look at the dpf threads for answers to your question. It's all there the good and the bad.

Hi PGM, the fan running after turning the engine off is normal. What it means is the car has been doing a dpf regeneration, basically excess soot is being burned off.To achieve this extra diesel is injected into dpf to burn at a higher temperature, hence why the fan is running. If this happens you need to let it complete a regeneration. As Dave suggested, look through the forum and read up on the DPF and learn how to drive, manage and maintain the dpf system. ( but its not all doom and gloom, good car choice, enjoy it)
