Hi Chingster, your brake pads are wearable items so not covered by warranty anyway, getting a local garage to do it cheaper is no more different than doing it yourself. Just make sure they use a quality pad not some cheap import

My 2011 facelift 2,2 exclusive had it`s MOT in June + 3rd. service it had just over 13,000 miles on her. Discs on front described as pitted. Suggest change of discs at pad change. some 1000 miles later discovered front brakes were binding took it to local garage (brilliant) guy. sorted out. Took it back to the dealer, told I need new discs F & B plus pads, Cost £1716 .60. How can Vauxhall justify this > Took it back to the local guy, who obtained good quality discs and pads fitted awaiting bill, he scoffed at the Vauxhall costs. Seriously thinking of changing away. Cannot wait to see response of Dealership when they get survey. Even taking into account the lack of use over three years, I would expect discs costing in the region of £300:00 each corner minimum to be able to withstand anything. Disgrace. Beware. Unknownmale.
