As the title says I spotted one for sale at my local Arnold Clark and looked on the VX website and they are available. When did that happen.

I wonder if that because of all the DPF issues with the diesel engine.

Only available in 2WD and has been since facelift model was launched. I have a brochure dated April 2012 and it is featured in it.
Rare as hen's teeth , don't seem many about at all . Rather surprising considering the amount of DPF woes with the diesel version ....
If you think the diesel uses some fuel the Pertol models are atrocious coupled with a poor towing performance and depreciation worse than the diesels they have been around for some time but don't sell.
i don't think so 2.4 petrols have been about since a least 2007 in 4 wheel drive have a look on ebay and you will see them for sale from year 2007
They was a petrol model it was then it was dropped but as superspark says it did make a comeback. They must be very good since nobody has any issues worth complaining about on here.

I have 2011 facelift 2.4 petrol, great motor, it returns an average mpg of 31 and that's urban, its great for towing, until you hit a big hill, only gripe is 6th gear a bit useless again on big hills unless you get a run at them, its certainly worth considering, as everyone says no dpf issue, but roadtax is expensive £280, way up the cost of the 2.2 and the fuel cost as diesel is dearer and the £5k price difference in models, !!!!

Nice to see a petrol owner on here.

Mpg is not bad either and worth considering if anyone does a lot of short town driving.
the wifes astra 1.6 only returns an average of 33.5 mpg urban, I thought the same as most people , don't buy a petrol 2.4 it will eat fuel, don't get me wrong it wasn't till after the antara had covered over 7k miles before the mpg settled and the engine slackened off,
I prefer petrol we had a fFord Explorer that only gave a return of 24 to 26 miles gallon but it was a great car the road tax is not that expensive at £280 I had a pergeuot807 that cost nearly £400 in tax and I think my Nissan Pathfinder was quite expensive two
Grumps hubby says they always done it
