now and again when I stop the engine cuts out I have to turn the key and it starts again this can happen at traffic lights which is a bit of a pain
when I get in the car I turn off the ECO BUTTON
Is this what I’m doing wrong

The ECO button enables (when the light is on) the stop / start function - not pressed means the car shouldn't switch off.
the fact you need to turn the key suggests its stalled. Have you / had someone to read the ecu codes?

I pop the park brake on - into neutral - then off the clutch
if all the rest of the criteria is met.. (no AC etc,) it stops...... then I just depress the clutch and the car fires back up

Just a thought, unsure if there is certain type /crank power you need for you battery for the stop start, this could be why its failing to restart, my sons Kia would not stop start without the right size battery,
