1st long trip planned for this weekend and 1st time to see what's the furthest possible I can go on a full tank. ( Can't go by what the range on the trip computer says as that's not accurate) Brimmed the tank before to the tune of £86 now for the test!
Newcastle to Liverpool and back 400mile round trip should b done on 1 tank easy (I think)
(we could make this into a forum competition)

I did this challenge in my 1.3cdti Corsa D a few months back and archived 600miles on 1 tank, not bad! (Not gonna get that with the antara! Lol)

163 AWD auto
820 mile round trip, France and England
Four adults cruise set at 70 mph
Average 33.4 mpg.

Pleased with that, as far better than the old Antara.

And I was getting over 400 miles to the tank, so it can be done.

Good luck with the trip.
Not sure what MPG you might get, but you might find the trip computer is more accurate than you think. The last time I filled up, the trip computer wasless thanhalf a mile per gallon different to the brim to brim measurement.

I filled up the tank this morning with the trip computer on 307.9 miles since the last fill up.

It took 45.27litres to the brim.

The trip computer was saying my average consumption was 29.9 mpg.

The brim to brim calculation gave me a figure of30.93 mpg.

So the trip computer is almost as accurate as the brim to brim measurement.

I'm also pleased I'm getting a consistent MPG of around 30. Considering I do most of my driving around town and on narrow, winding "A" & "B" roads, I'm satisfied with that figure from a brand new car. If the Antara does the same as my old Volvo did, then I would expect that figure to improve by 2 or 3 MPG in the coming months.

I didn't zero the board computer this week, as I want to start monitoring the MPG over several tanks full. That way I'll get a better idea of the long term fuel performance of the car.

if when i get mine and it does 30mpg then i will be happy.my last volvo did approx 40 mpg. If i go to visit my daughter its a round trip of 300 miles. so in my volvo it took 8 gallons and if the antara takes 10 gallons to do the same trip it will cost me £12 more,so not the end of the world over a 300 mile trip.

Ok so the journey went like this, Newcastle to Liverpool 200miles and managed to just touch 47mpg then the dreaded regen, killed off my 47 down to 38.1 at the beginning of the return journey but by the time I got home got the mpg back to 40.1.
So after 426miles got 40.1mpg, range says I've got 216miles left in the tank which equates to 3/8 of a tank

Quite impressed really!
That's with a 2012 Antara with 3600 miles on the clock
