Now the hot weather is gone, and the tourist season is almost over, I looked at my trip planner and decided to pay a visit to Eilean Donan Castle. This is on the West Coast not far from Skye. It was about a 170 mile round trip and the Antara performed brilliantly, especially on the very steep 1 in 6 and 1 in 7 hills along the way.
The drive was very enjoyable. One of the best drives I've had in recent years. Really lovely scenery. Highly recommended.
Here's a few pictures I took during the trip.
This is a few miles from the castle looking out over Loch Alsh, The mountain is Glas Bhein and the mountains in the background on the right are on Skye. The weather was perfect and it was such a nice scene, I had to stop and take some pictures.
These next three are of Eilean Donan Castle itself. It was very busy, but I managed to find some quiet places to take a few snaps. This is a place I've always wanted to visit, but never got round to it until today. Well worth the wait.
