Hi Alan,

Nice to hear of another Cheshire owner. Mine is a 2012 Antara SE 184 AWD Man and has a full size 19" alloy wheel fitted under the boot floor. My struggle with vx to get this is well documented elsewhere as is the generosity of the dealership. However it was not Grimshaws of Eccles who carried out the conversion rather a body shop that they used, unfortunately they have recently become part of the Pentagon group and Alan Grimshaw has gone, so I can't ask for you. I have posted elsewhere photos of the conversion in response to other requests but it is basically quite simple and just needs a strip of material about 1" thick under the hinges and two similar pieces at the front of the floor. The problem it would appear from posts that the 2013 cars have a different layout under the floor, and of course a new alloy, tyre, jack and wrench is close to £1000 I am told. If it would help I could gather together the photos and perhaps a local body shop could do it for you.

Do you have the boot with the 6 pockets.

I altered mine with a jab saw and drill so the frame stays intact to support the hinged floor but allow the spare wheel to be stored.

Many thanks for your reply I do have the new lay out and when you lift up the rear boot cover it is split into sections and there is no centre to lift out it is all in one from front to back. Ihave a 16inch STEEL wheel which help.

Hi Alan,

So does the boot floor have the mounting point for the wheel and the fixing for the jack, or have they altered those as well. The problem is with the width/height of the wheel and tyre which prevents the floor closing, although some members on here appear to have no problem with this. Mine certainly would not close hence the conversion, which is easily DIY country if you are so inclined.

I don't no what the floor plane looks like so I have no idea what it under the plastic sections or weather there is a wheel housing to fit the wheel I was hopping some one would have modified the 2013 floor plan and saved me unbolting the boot cover just to see. I have seen the pictures of the 2012 cover and that looks simple to do. I am looking to see if I can get a second hand boot (2012) model liner which may replace the one in my model.

Hi, What I did to my 2013 model (new model) was to remove the plastic moulding completely. It is held in by some torx type screws and 2 bolts that hold the compartment cover. I fitted my full size 16" wheel/tyre and jack and then refitted the 2 bolts that hold the top cover. The top cover sits on top ofthe wheel nicely. It works well.
I did same as chrisg and everything is ok with plenty of room round the spare for other bits and pieces.
