Hi I have a 2012 Antara which up until 2 months ago was running perfectly. Now on 2 occasions the
car has been dead when I have gone to use it.
Twice I have called RAC to which both engineers have given same result-Alternator failed to charge
battery.
New RAC battery replacement on 1st call out recommended I take to a garage for repair. Nothing
found wrong with car. 3 weeks later exactly same thing happened. Once again Nothing wrong apart from
alternator burnt out, indicating electrical fault/wiring.
Now the garage took the car to a garage specialising in electrical diagnoses to be told the car is running
as it should be.????
Please has any one experienced this with their Antara and how do I fix this on going problem.

It's possible your trouble is related to the starter / alternator wiring harness. See this thread for more information.

Thank you Victor. I am so confused with RAC saying one thing, Garage saying opposite. I have decided to seek further investigation at a different garage. Mean while the car is working as it should?? Time will tell I guess.
