I bought a astra 1.7 cdti 06 cheap with blow engine.
Bought a second hand one which the person said it run fine but had
Been sitting for 2 years. So I change w/pump injectors/ timing belt ect,
Plus new oils and lubes all round plus new core plugs.

Fired it up after fitting and sounded ruff as bum.
A constant tapping noise from the top off the engine,
So I change injectors - no joy.

Friend said could injectors need coding and have the cams worn.

I do not know.

Hi Vinnie,
Not sure if there are any people on here who are really into the sort of project you've done. Buying an old car and fitting a new engine is certainly beyond me.

But you may get more help if you go to an Astra forum rather than an Antara forum.
