Underneath the good looks, this outstanding off-roader contains a range of intelligent chassis control features to give you the response you need, however tough the conditions. A wealth of driving technologies puts superb command at your fingertips.

Learn more about all-wheel drive (AWD) technology in the Vauxhall Antara and its comprehensive range of active and passive safety features.

The Vauxhall Antara can be equipped with an electronically controlled all-wheel drive train. In normal driving conditions the power is delivered to the front wheels. But in difficult or slippery conditions it will automatically engage the AWD, distributing the power 50:50 front to rear, for optimal traction.

The Vauxhall Antara is fitted with an incline Descent Control System (DCS) as standard equipment. Activating the DCS maintains a constant descent speed which is preselected using the accelerator.

The Vauxhall Antara uses highly developed electronic driver-support systems to enhance active safety. It also offers:

Cornering brake control (CBC), which improves stability when braking in curves by reducing brake pressure on the inner wheels.
Hydraulic brake assistance (HBA), which automatically increases braking pressure when the driver steps heavily on the brake, progressively increasing the pressure to the maximum, thus dramatically reducing braking distance.
An Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which includes standard Traction Control (TC), a DCS, a Trailer Stability Programme (TSP) and Hill Start Assist (HSA), which eases starting and eliminates roll-back on gradients.

The perfect interplay of these systems with the intelligent AWD not only delivers a high degree of driving satisfaction and comfort, but also high reserves of active safety.

These features and the detachable trailer hitch make the Vauxhall Antara the perfect choice for trailer operation. Available as a Retailer-fitted option.

With SAFETEC® you’re protected on all sides. The system is based on the interaction of all the vehicle’s passive and active safety features, the main element being the extremely rigid passenger cell. This combination ensures that, if you are involved in an accident, mechanical deformation is minimised and the largest possible survival area is preserved.
