I looked at Comma Oil's website and they don't produce oil for an Antara transfer box (although they do for other vehicles). Here is the link for a list of their products for post-2010 2.2 diesel Antaras.
I see that Comma's reason for not producing oil for an Antara transfer box is that certain box manufacturers have specific requirements for their units. It seems that the oil choice cannot be left to a "that'll do" attitude (I didn't realise it was that complicated). If it is that critical I wonder if the reported failures of the transfer box bearing(s) are because the wrong oil was used? I doubt we will ever know.
The transfer box oil is top secret as VX will not tell you
or vx dealer doesn't know what oils they use
bit like no fault code so they scratches head
To get the correct oil you can get free when buying a complete new transfer box for £2500 plus fitting
Got the correct oil today, from Vauxhall, part number 9196535, £29.95 a litre, bought 2 but only needed one so will keep the other for when I change the oil next summer.
