New Site Look and Software Upgrade Coming
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to give you a heads up; we are going to update the software here soon. In case there are any issues here are some things you can expect.
1) The site should be significantly faster.
We have applied every modern technique to speed up page load and tested with all modern browsers. We want the forum to be extremely fast and easy to use.
2) Mobile Friendly.
The site will work much better in mobile and tablet views.
We've started applying responsive design, and have designed and tested against android and iPhone devices, Android tablets, and iPads. If you are sitting at your desk or on your couch, or just on your phone, the site will work much better than it did before, and load fast. We are still working on improving the experience even further in the months to come, but we wanted to launch this as quickly as we could.
3)A new paint job!
The homepage will be bright, crisp and clean. We wanted the first page users saw to look beautiful, so that when a new guest arrives and is debating whether to join, they see a beautiful doorway, and they walk right in. We can also use this newly minted front page to showcase community related news and announcements.
4) Garages will be featured on the site
You can show off your vehicles, You can post pictures in your garage and share it with others.
5)Social Media Connect
Users will be able to register with Facebook meaning faster legitimate registrations.
6)We Want your Input!
We want to know what you like in an update (look and feel). What you think the community would get excited about and appreciate.
Do you want an updated, logo? A new skin theme color change? Maybe a preference in images included in the banner showing off multiple generations? Don't be Shy! We need this info ASAP!
Let me know if you have any concerns. I will be here to help with the transition and any issues there may be.

Thanks,
Community Manager

Maybe if you had asked for input before imposing the new one on us in the first place, that would have been a civil and decent move. I am sorry but as I have said it worked on phones etc before so I still feel there is an element of not quite getting the real answer here. Why are you in Canada running a UK Antara website? Just curious

Hey!
yes we're based in Toronto. We own a variety of sites not just in the UK, but also in the US, Canada, Singapore and a couple of other english speaking countries... as well as other foreign language countries. We don't normally run the sites like admins because most of our forums if not all are run by the existing moderators.
we do apologize for the sudden change, there should have been a prior warning.
And we thought we had that handled but it wasn't done. So if there's any questions about the new site look, please let me know

Dan who developed this site site and many others did so as a bit of a hobby and then decided to sell them off a few years ago. In that time the site have been run from Canada and we were none the wiser and it wasnt an issue.
Hopefully the changes made will improve the forum experience so but until it is up and running we wont be able to tell if its for the better.
I appreciate change is not always good and sometimes people take longer to accept changes but at the end of the day we are only visitors and use the forum for our benefit. I guess if the owners want to change it that is up to them they dont have to consult or ask for approval from us we either accept it or start your own site.
Roll out new site and give it a try. BTW this is happening to most of the ownerclub forums so it not just the Antaraownersclub forum.

This site is free for us to use so we should not moan..... But without us the site would not exist and lets be frank they probably make money from the adverts so in a way its not free and without us the site, well I wont repeat myself. In short due to my and others membership we have a stake in this website, we get to pass information to one another and the owners get financial gain, so both parties are happy.
So Grumps as far as I see I have every right to complain we were not involved in the process of change. looking at the poll regarding this new forum I am not alone it would seem.....

Note regarding post counts:
The post count on the old site was incorrect. Deleted posts or threads may not have reduced the post count total so it gave a higher number. When the site was converted to vBulletin, the post count is recalculated based on the real number of posts in the database. So what has effectively happened - the post count has been reduced to the correct number, which makes it appear as though posts have been lost.
