Automotiva UK were true to their word and a courier delivered the Cruze mouldings yesterday. The units are moulded, with no cuts, raw edges or end pieces to stick on. 3M adhesive is already applied to the backs and sachets of cleaning wipes are supplied to treat the doors prior to application. After a lot of thought and checking other vehicles I set the bottom of the trims 285mm above the top edge of the black
plastic trims at the bottom of the doors, which lines through with the
light in the engine compartment vent on the front wings. They look right in my opinion and took about 20 minutes overall after checking twice before applying. There is no margin for error as the adhesive strips are tenacious. The reduced moulding on the rear doors allows the door to open into the central pillar and the slight overhang of the front door moulding provides a buffer when opening against a wall or whatever. All in all very pleased and if it means I can park without having to find a deserted corner I shall be delighted.
