Just got new Antara Se after having Mokka. Can anyone explain the purpose of the Auto switch on my lights as all it seems to do is put all lights on except the dashboard lights on until it's dark? Is it something that needs resetting by the dealer? My Mokka had automatically dipping headlamps and front sidelights on during day.

That's all the auto does, better leaving them switched off. Welcome to the club

You can get your dealer to switch them off so they only come on when its dark but you wont have any daylight running lights on or in the Antaras case you wont have any lights on at all.

Oh well, headlights on it is then. Thought the sidelights would be on like daylight lights and then rear lights and headlights come on when needed. Anyway love my Antara despite this minor hiccup.

It's not quite just the headlights.
When this Auto setting is on, the light level of your instruments, satnav and computer are automatically dimmed at night or when the light level is low during the day.

You can only turn you headlights onto full beam at night or when daytime light is at a low level when Auto is set to on. You can still flash your headlights.

Thanks again. Headlights on it is then. I just need some led or bright white side lights to match the Xenon headlights now.

Just fitted LED bright white side lights that really look good. They are canbus compliant and I got them off the web from autobulbs.

Had some great advice from the forum on that which made it easier. There is a post on it if you search.
