Fuel related problems?

Wondering if anyone has had similar problems?
Went on the school run and on return pulling onto the drive the car cut out completely had to get a recovery guy to move it who said it sounds like thereís no compression getting to the engine
Car showed no signs at all or any problems leading ip to the morning it happened and drove fine on the school run.
It came completely out of no where
Itís been to 2 different garages and so far Iíve been told possibly electrical fault or issue with injectors or main fuel pipe
When it was put on the computer it showed fuel issues however on checking it again the computer was clear
The car was filled up the day before so no issue with amount of fuel or faulty gage.
Itís been 5 weeks now and no one can seem to give me answers (other than it cost a fortune to keep moving it)
Has anybody had similar issues Vauxhall antara 2014
No major faults in the past either.

Its a bit unusual for a car to just cut out when running, is it petrol or diesel.

Does the car still crank(turn over on the starter), does it sound to you any different when cranking.

Hi thanks for replying- Iím sorry this is Emma who wrote the original post However it wonít let me log back in using the username I had
To answer your questions itís a diesel a car
It sounds differant yes low compression the recovery guy said
It just seems like itís trying to turn over but itís more of a ticking sound
The car has full service history it was last serviced in June where I had a full service done so all filters changed etc
The car has done 69k mileage.

Hi Emma

One of my previous cars once stapped a timing chain, the effect is the engine loses it timing and can cause terminal/severe damage to the engine, if that has happened and you have lost compression it could be a majour engine rebuild. Its unusual though, an engine of that milage and service history, i would expect the chain to last the life of the engine easily 100k +. I must confess I thought this was fuel related, i.e. fuel pump or perhaps fuel filters but the filters should of been changed, so maybe just the pump. I commented on your other post. You could contact the garages you have sent it to and ask them if they checked the timing chain ?. Sorry I can't be more help Richy.

Sounds to me like it could be a fuel pump issue, this is common for this time of year on all cars but primarly diesils as the fuel gets thicker in colder weather, it would be worth asking the garage to do a check on the fuel pump
