Incorrect forum links using Google

Hello Everyone

First post as a new Antara owner and feeling a little apprehensive after reading so much on here... so crossing everything I've got that I made a half sensible decision!

My enquiry is related to Google searches for this car. For example I put in "recommended oil Antara" and this site comes close to the top of the hit list with.....................

Engine oil for diesel Antara - Vauxhall Antara Forums - Page 1 ...
http://www.antaraownersclub.com/foru...topic3148.html

If you click that link you'll see my problem.

All hits from the Google list for antaraownersclub.cpom and on all subjects seem to suffer from the same problem in that the link address is incorrect. It is missing the particular forum title/name. When the link is clicked it returns
"invalid page specified".

As a side note when searches are conducted within the Antara site the the links work fine.

Is it just me or may this have something to do with the recent changeover?

Thanks for a very useful resource...namely you!

Admin you might also note, on the same matter, that links posted within the forum are also suffering from the same problem.

An example from the main forum
"About adding your vehicle details this link will help doing so

http://www.antaraownersclub.com/foru...topic3284.html

Not sure how something as basic as this has come about but it needs a solution fairly quickly as a lot of the site functionality has been destroyed!

I think by the lack of activity on your "updated forum" Admin you can see its been a glowing success story...Not! I cannot believe that you run something without stress testing it, crazy way to do business I can see this forum coming to an end due to a lack of people.... Really saddens me and I hope the business case you put forward to change things works for you as at this point if I ran the company I would be looking for answers and solid reasons as to why this mess was allowed to happen and who is responsible....

I am very close to leaving this group which is a great shame

for now, switch the searches to this:

the V-like logo, thats the vbulletin search. it should be working, i just tested.

we've done these conversions before and it was never this rough. We do apologize for the inconvenience, we'll try to get it resolved asap. for now, please keep reporting these problems and i'll get them escalated as fast as I can.

Incorrect forum links using Google

Im working on a forum links page and asking for everyones input.

My idea is to start with a top level category with sub categories below them linked to forums and subjects, a map of sorts to make it easier in moving around the forums to find references.

There would also be links to repair manual sections.

Is this links page something that would be helpful?
