Can anyone tell me an easy way to prove the on-demand 4WD of my 2007 Antara S 2,0Dti is working?

Find some snow or mud. You have no way of knowing other than you can feel the rear wheel drive kick in when its needed.

I tried mine on a grass hill when it was wet, knowing a twd car would struggle, pulling away fast and you can feel the difference

At this time of the year you should find a stubble field with a slope in the wet. Drive up hill If you get stuck it's not working. If you don't 4WD works. I've tried it. Not much ground clearance though. You can hear the stubble brushing the underside.

So you are advising people to not only break the law by driving more than 15 metres off the public highway without permission, and trespassing, but you're also giving ALL 4x4 drivers a bad name and possibly damaging land. We're losing our byways, mainly because of morons going 'off piste' and everyone hates us because we kill Polar bears and here you are on a public forum actually encouraging this anti social behaviour.

What an idiotic thing to say and do.

Where in his post did he say break the law.............No tresspassing laws in Scotland...he said find a field, he obviously assumed too much that most people on the forum were intelligent enough to maybe ask for permission. Maybe your negative views on everything relating to the Antara has taken over your life but give the guy a break...morons?............a bit harsh.........I can assure you the Polar Bears at Newtonmore are very safe, never had the urge to go kill one. !!!
