Oil Filter

Hi new to the forum but been coming here for some guidance with my Antara for a while, Great forum. I am attempting to do an oil and filter change, I started on the sump plug first which I discovered had been rounded had a garage loosen it for me once a new sump plug had come in from Vauxhall but I can't get the filter housing to budge. Given the limited space in there I am unable to get a proper grip on the wrench which might be the cause, any one got any tips?

I have filled around 4.5 litres of oil as stated in the owners manual but oddly its not showing on the dipstick, I've read they take around 6.5 litres not the 4.5 mentioned in the manual is this correct?

She's a 2010 2.0 Litre Anatara SE Diesel.

Unfortunately I have a newer 2.2 model, but if your oil filter is at the top and back of the engine just behind the air filter, like mine, then I got at it by removing thje plastic/rubber engine cover, loosened the large air hose from air filter to turbo, and moved it aside to give more room then used a 27mm socket with a 5 inch extension bar which took my ratchet out of reach of any snags.
Regarding oil quantities, my engine took half a litre less than the recommended 5.5 litres.
Hope this is of some help.
PS. You can also buy a universal joint type socket which lets you get in from various angles for only a few pounds. (Halfords or Amazon)

PPS. Try and get a measurement on the filter nut size as mine was quoted as 32mm but actually was 27mm.
