Hi all, I have just spoken to my local VX garage after my 80k/4yr service. They tell me that my sump is leaking and its going to cost £390. At my last service they told me that they fixed this oil leak.
Does anyone know who the best person to speak to with regard to a complaint at Vauxhall H.O.?
Thanks

My wife says that I never listen or something like that !

Aussie Ed over on the Captiva board is always advising ppl to take out Extended Warranty on their vehicles after the manufacturers warranty runs out. He says WarrantyWise is a good company and it's what he chose himself.. Food for thought.http://www.chevroletownersclub.co.uk/forum/decision-made-renewing-extended-warranty_topic5977.html#.WimTPbZl9mA

I suggest work through your dealer's management chain first, then - if there is no resolution - complain to Vauxhall in the sense that their dealer network is falling below reasonable customer expectations. A sump shouldn't leak unless it has taken a whack or was assembled incorrectly in the first place.

Many thanks guys. I think I go to Arnold Clark H.O first. What's annoying is that I still have my lifetime warranty in force. They fixed it once under the warranty (less than 12 months ago), but no say I have to pay

Ill keep you posted.

Think you might need to bang a few heads together
I thought life time warrenty for 1st owners covers your problem time and time again

Yep, I'm at a loss to understand why they would want to charge the owner £390 - or any money, come to that - for an oil leak while the vehicle is under Lifetime Warranty.

The original argument was that they cant get the sump off in one piece, however when I stated that it had been off some 11 months ago, the bill went down to £190 to re-seal it

I have emailed the service team in their H.O. and wait their reply.

I personally don't think the original leak was fixed.

The sad thing is there's no proving that they didn't fix it the 1st time round something like this you have to put your trust in the dealer
But this should still be in you life time warrenty Edited by: Bigjohnsparky

Had similar thing happen to me that didn't want to do it, so wrote to vauxhall and also dealer they wanted me to pay i refused and informed then that they had done the repair and it should be fit for purpose. After a few arguments i informed them trading standards would be in formed along with the local press if they didn't come to the party. The result was the vehicle was returned and repaired how ever it didn't last so got my money back. Good luck !
