The Z20 2 litre engine (sometimes referred to as Z20 DMH) in the pre-face lift Antara was made by V.M.Motori in Italy which GM owned 50/50 with Fiat and was fitted to a variety of vehicles - see Wikipedia for details.
The 2.2 diesel was supposed to be developed by GM Korea after GM sold out its stake in VMM to Fiat but I'd be prepared to bet there's more than a trace of VMM in its DNA. The car industry is so incestuous it's hard to tell who used whose body shells - sorry, platforms - power plants etc. Wouldn't be surprised if the Antara 2.2 A22DM is used in the Kia Sorrento and Hyundai whotsitsname maybe with different power outputs.
