Driving along yesterday in my 13 plate SE Nav 2.2 184hp with auto box, I was doing about 50mph or so, there was an almighty clatter and bumping. I managed to stop pretty much immediately and noticed I had no drive so I called the recovery guys. Once at the garage and up on the ramps it seems that the Transfer Box has got a big hole in it!

I'm trying to locate a replacement transfer box and wonder if anyone knows if there have been variations to the boxes between the various models (engine sizes, auto/manual, different years etc)? Indeed is the Captiva transfer box also fully compatible or not? Anybody understand what the various part number codes mean? Anybody know a good firm supplying recon boxes or indeed doing the reconditioning?

Any help and information would be gratefully received as I feel in a pretty lonely place at the moment with my beloved car in bits and me trying to source parts from heaven knows where! Thanks guys!!

There was a member called Valerio who had his transfer box rebuilt see this threadhttp://www.antaraownersclub.com/foru...topic2458.htmland as Dulac says there's other threads you can search for.

If your casing has a big hole in it then you're looking for a transfer box, no doubt about that.
