I still have engine vibration and appears to be getting worse. Not sure what's causing it. All sorts in my mind, DMF, seized belt tensioner for alternator, loose plate/cover ?
Does anyone know if the 2.2 diesel has a balance shaft fitted in the engine?

I had horrible vibration issues, under acceleration. Turned out it was the prop shaft, the car had only done 35000. Luckily I had bought a good warranty when I bought the car second hand, other wise I would have been looking at a bill in excess of £1000.

In the good ol' days, when cars had spare room in the engine compartment, excessive vibration was usually down to a failed/delaminated engine mounting or a worn universal joint on the prop shaft. Each could be replaced without too much trouble.

Update: Ran my Antara in to Arnold Clark and had the tech guy listen to the vibration. He doesn't think its the DMF. I have returned it to have the timing case oil leak sorted. He tells me that the engine doesn't need to come out only tilted with the engine mount freed off. He thinks that the oil may have damaged the engine rubber mount, but wont know until starting the job.

I've got a 1.6turbo Mokka SE on loan. What a lovely little car

My wife says that I never listen or something like that !

When my local dealer sorted my oil leak, they ended up putting the balance shaft(s ?) back incorrectly causing annoying vibration. They first replaced the DMF, which made no difference, then they worked backwards to find the problem.

Picked up my Antara this afternoon from Arnold Clark. They have fixed the timing case oil leak. Found that the rocker cover and sump pan were leaking, so fixed them. The vibration has gone, so maybe a loose pipe, panel?? who knowns!
All under warranty. Happy bunny today.
